A visitor book tells you nothing during an evacuation and cannot be searched afterwards. A visitor system registers arrivals, prints a badge, notifies the host and gives a live list of who is in the building.

Revere links it to the access control so a visitor badge opens only the doors it should, and expires by itself at the end of the day.
