Bluetooth handles the door in front of you; Wi-Fi handles the door you are not standing at. A lock with both can be opened on approach and still be managed from anywhere.

Revere checks signal at the door before committing to a Wi-Fi lock, because a lock that cannot reach the access point is a lock that will need its keypad every time.
